Conflux Live · by Big Small TV

The stream that can't go black.

A broadcast-quality live show from a small crew: real cameras, a director, lower thirds, Q&A and a recording on your site before lunch. The programme is made in the cloud, so if the venue connection drops, your viewers see your holding slide, not a dead stream. For results days, investor events, town halls, premieres and launches.

How it works

Three parts, one show.

The room has cameras, microphones and a director. The programme itself is made in the cloud, where a venue power cut or a dropped line can't reach it. Specialists sit wherever they are and drive the same show.

01 · At the venue

A gallery on one Mac

Cameras2 to 4, with a camera operator each; a phone with a £20 dongle works too (kit list)
Microphones and sound deskLapels, lecterns, PA; talkback to the presenter's earpiece
Slides and VTsPowerPoint plays live from the gallery, not the laptop
Conflux StudioSwitching, graphics, prompter, presenter screen, recording, every cut loggedDirector + Stream Deck
SeatsGraphics, sound and producer on their own Macs, in the room or remote
Second path: a phone's data carries on if the venue line fails
02 · In the cloud

The programme that never stops

Cloud programmeA continuous feed made on our servers. If the venue drops, the holding slide, a VT or the slides take over, then it cuts back by itself.
Backup inputsMain and backup feeds; switched for you within seconds
Replays and a 9:16 feedHighlights built while you're live; a vertical cut that follows the speaker
Event pageRegistration, moderated Q&A, questions to screen, personal links
GuestsTeams meetings and browser guest links come in as inputs
03 · Where it goes

Everywhere at once

Your event pageBranded, with the recording in place afterwards
YouTube, Vimeo, LinkedIn, Teams, FacebookAll live from one feed; none sees a disconnect
Venue screens and overflow roomsFull-quality feeds over a web link, no long cables
Recording and editEdit-ready files as it happens, an EDL of every cut, proxies to the editor during the show
ReportEvery switch, drop-out and output, with times, by email
If the venue drops

Your viewers see this, not a spinning wheel.

On airWe'll be back in a momentHolding slide · every platform still connected09:31:04

The programme is made on our servers, not in the venue. When the line from the room stops, the cloud programme switches to your holding slide or a pre-recorded message within a second, and every platform carries on as if nothing happened. The director sees why in plain English. When the line is back and stable, it cuts to the cameras again.

Meanwhile a second internet path, usually a phone, keeps a lower-quality picture flowing, so most viewers never see the slide at all.

What happens if…

The answers before you ask.

The internet dropsHolding slide within a second; every platform stays connected; the phone path carries on; it cuts back by itself.
A camera failsThe director cuts to another; if the feed to the cloud is lost, the backup feed takes over.
The CEO's laptop diesThe slides are already playing from our gallery, not the laptop.
A slide is wrongSend the corrected deck; it's swapped at the next natural break, never mid-slide.
An inappropriate questionEvery question is moderated before it reaches the screen.
A presenter is lateThe holding slide, a VT or a countdown plays while the running order is re-ordered live.
The gallery Mac crashesThe output keeps playing on its own and the cloud programme carries on regardless.
Someone on the crew is illEach seat can be covered by another operator on their own Mac, from anywhere.
